What Guests Are Saying!

This is what guests are saying about Porter's Island Thyme on TripAdvisor:

5 of 5 starsReviewed March 14, 2015NEW
This year marks our fourth trip to Salt Cay in four years. Porter's Island Thyme is a huge reason for our return. Every restaurant wants to be reviewed and known for their food. Island Thyme tops the charts here. Every dish is prepared with care and attention to detail. It is simply amazing to receive top notch food time after time. But it becomes even more impressive given how hard it is to come by supplies to put everything together. Owner's Porter and Haidee along with Lolli and Apol in the kitchen and Tony lending a hand where needed, make miracles happen every night. On a recent shopping trip on Grand Turke, Haidee quipped " I had to go to 3 places to get red, green and yellow peppers." I found those peppers on my shrimp skewer the next night. They were quite lovely.

So, yes the food is the number one purpose of a restaurant, but that is by no means where Island Thyme stops. It is the hot spot for nightly entertainment. I can't emphasize enough that one must try and participate in all they have to offer. Poker night for example. I am a true novice, having played four times....all on Salt Cay. But everyone welcomes you to the table and helps you along. It isn't just a poker game, it is family night with the locals, expats and a few tourists. Fun doesn't begin to describe the evening.

We biked everywhere on the island and there was nothing better than popping in for a drink and hearing the happenings of the day. Kinda like reading a daily paper, island style.

Each night we entered the restaurant eager to greet old friends and meet new ones. Wish there was a spot half as cool here at home. Thanks again to everyone at Island Thyme for making another trip to Salt Cay sooooo much fun!!

The chief & cowgirl won the couples competition.

A BBQ rib dinner was enjoyed by all only as Island Thyme can do.

Cowboys from the world over enjoyed the Hoedown.

There were indians.

Special Thanks goes out to Salt Cay Gary & Pam for providing the music!
